Clay County Fair Board Exhibit Hall Fund
The Event Center is a versatile, multi-purpose building that serves as a vital resource for Clay County. It hosts various events, including the county fair, 4-H and FFA activities, school functions, wedding receptions, agricultural equipment showcases, and large community gatherings. Beyond these uses, the building is designed to provide critical community support during emergencies, serving as a first aid station, emergency shelter during tornadoes, and a mass vaccination site if needed.
The center is also considered a centralized election location for the county. With such diverse and vital uses, adequate and reliable parking is essential to accommodate visitors safely and conveniently. Constructing a quality asphalt parking lot will enhance the accessibility and usability of the facility for all community members and events. Funding is needed to build a new asphalt parking lot adjacent to the recently completed River Valley Extension Office and Event Center. This parking area will support the many functions and events held at the facility.
