1. Clay County Educational Endowment Association Scholarships

The Clay County Educational Endowment Assoication is pleased to offer 29 scholarships to local high school seniors.  Applications are due FEBRUARY 29, 2024. 

Students will fill out one online application and will be asked to list the scholarships they are applying for.  Some scholarships may require essays, letters of recommendation or other information.  There will be a place to attach those documents to your application. 

The list of scholarships and their criteria can be found under the Document Upload section of the application.  This is towards the bottom of the application.

2. Ross Pat McDaniel Scholarship

Clay County Education Endowment Association received a $2.4 million donation from the Ross Patrick (Pat) and Jeanette Louise McDaniel Family Charitable Remainder Trust for the express purpose of providing scholarships to graduating students who wish to learn a trade and earn a technical degree.  Pat McDaniel was an alumnus from the class of 1948 who, upon moving to California, went to college, earned a commission in the United States Navy, became a teacher, then a principal of elementary education, earned his doctorate from the University of Southern California, and built wealth investing and working in the real estate and mini-storage industries.   Mr. McDaniel passed away in 2006.  Due to the kindness that he was shown during his youth from the people of Clay Center, most notably from the Wayne Snodgrass family and Loren E. and Pauline Law, it was his wish to provide an opportunity for young men and women to obtain a foothold on their career by learning a vocational skill beneficial to themselves and their community. The scholarships will pay tuition and fees towards a technical degree up to two years.
